A first session is a time for you and your therapist to get to know one another and make sure it is a good fit. The therapist reviews the intake paperwork with you and allows you space to ask questions. Then the therapist and you move on to learning about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve through this process.
There are a variety of therapists and therapeutic approaches that would support you on your healing journey. What is important is that you feel supported and a connection to the right therapist. Feel free to try a few out and see which one speaks the most to you.
